enjoyed you link very much. it’s nice to know that no matter how much time i spent trying to ponder out that damned heresy, the catholic encyclopedia said it didn’t matter. it’s funny, because the stuff that i’ve been reading was quite clear in pointing out exactly why adoptionism was NOT a nestorian heresy. it’s a pity, because i’ve spent so much time with adoptionism, and my paper is really just on alcuin’s commentary on the gospel of john, and the sort of changes he makes on augustine’s own tractate on john. there is more to it than that, obviously, but talking to people about something fascinating that my paper isn’t really on is much more fun than writing about it. so thank you again!
